Sim Tshabalala Chief Executive Officer Standard Bank Group South Africa
Simpiwe Tshabalala was appointed Chief Executive of the Standard Bank Group in 2013 and is the Chief Executive of Standard Bank South Africa since 2008. Prior to this, he was also responsible for the bank’s corporate and investment banking’s client franchise in South Africa. Mr Tshabalala joined Standard Bank in 2000, where he became a director in 2000, and Managing Director of Stanbic Africa in 2001, before his appointment as Chief Executive of Personal and Business Banking in 2006. Mr Tshabalala previously worked for Durolink Investment Bank for six years and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1994.
In addition, he sits on the boards of the Liberty Group; Standard Bank’s subsidiary in Nigeria, Stanbic IBTC; the Banking Association of South Africa and on the nation’s Board and Council of Business Leadership and was recently appointed to the South African National Advisory Council on Innovation.
