H.E. Kerfalla Yansane Minister of Mining and Geology Guinea
The Honourable Kerfalla Yansane serves as Minister of Mining and Geology of Guinea since 2014. Prior to this, he was appointed as Minister of Economy and Finance of the transition government under the presidency of General Konate in 2010, and was subsequently reappointed by the Government of Alpha Conde. Between 1986 and 1996, Mr Yansane served as Governor of the Central Bank of Guinea, focusing on modernization of the monetary policy and the containment of inflation.
Besides his services for the Guinean Government, Mr Yansane was a development consultant with a number of international and regional institutions, including the World Bank, the IMF, the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, New York, the NEPAD Secretariat in Johannesburg, the African Development Bank and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Addis Ababa.
In addition, The Honourable Minister was affiliated over the past 20 years to several regional and international boards and technical committees, such as the African Economic Research Consortium in Nairobi, the Executive Board of the African Capacity Building Foundation in Harare, the UN Committee for Development Policy in New York, as well as the Policy Advisory Group of the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor through the extension of micro finance services (CGAP, World Bank).
