Global Business Forum series
The Global Business Forum Series was launched by Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2013, with the inaugural Global Business Forum on Africa held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The series was initiated as a platform to engage key leaders from various governments and multinationals to support economic development and explore new investment opportunities in emerging markets across the globe.
Since its launch GBF Africa has attracted over 4,000 global business leaders, 7 African Heads of State and 52 ministers and senior dignitaries. Today GBF Africa ranks amongst the top global events on Africa.
CIS Global Business Forum 2016
Following the outstanding successes of the GBF Africa series, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has been identified as a regional market of great future potential.
The first CIS Global Business Forum will explore the mutual commercial benefits that emerge from this region’s changing economic synergies as markets reorient their trading patterns – while looking to understand and manage risks.
The Forum will involve 500 prominent CIS stakeholders and provide a unique opportunity to learn from global thought leaders, engage with decision-makers and network with industry peers.
CIS will take place on 17th and 18th February 2016 at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai.

Global Business Forum on Africa 2014
The second Global Business Forum on Africa 2014 attracted over 1,100 high-ranking guests from across the world that included heads of state, prominent global CEOs, heads of private banks and sovereign wealth funds.
Under the theme, “New Realities – New Connections”, the Forum explored the fast-changing nature of African markets and how the continent is forging new links across the world. The 16 sessions spread over the two days of the Forum, drew on a wealth of experience and knowledge to show that Africa is now more readily available to global partners for increased trade and investment.

The Global Business Forum on Africa is at the core of Dubai Chamber’s commitment to expand mutual business relations, identifying opportunities for trade, investment and partnership for GCC and African businesses. To realise this aim and ensure the GBF Africa agenda for 2017 is at the forefront of business thinking in Africa, Dubai Chamber is holding a series of roadshows, travelling to strategic African regions which would benefit from using Dubai as a hub to the continent. The Roadshows involves the participation of prominent Emirati business leaders, to promote the further development of UAE – Africa economic relations.
The Roadshows will feature roundtable discussions with both the private and the public sector; networking with African Chambers of Commerce and the opportunity to learn first-hand from investors with direct market experience.
GBF Roadshow - Southern Africa
The first GBF Roadshow to Johannesburg, South Africa and Maputo, Mozambique took place from the 2nd – 6th May and was headed by H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber.
A key element of the inaugural Roadshow was to officially launch the new Dubai Chamber International Office in Maputo, Mozambique in line with the Chamber’s strategic footprint across the continent. To review the session summaries please click here.
